Those wanting to find out about Vietnam's flora and fauna will find a trip to Nam Cat Tien National Park a rewarding experience. Located 160 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Nam Cat Tien is reported to have 600 varieties of plants, 240 types of birds and 50 species of mammals, including the one-horn Javan rhinoceros, one of several endangered mammals from Vietnam listed in the World Red Book.
It is a four-hour drive to the National Park from Ho Chi Minh City. Once here we cross the River, enjoy a walk through the jungle discovering the diversity of Nam Cat Tien's wildlife. There's also an animal watch by jeep and a boat ride on the Cocrodile Lake. Accommodation is at the Forest Floor Lodge inside the park facing the Dong Nai River.

 

Nam Cat Tien 2 days/ 1 night
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Nam Cat Tien

Pick up at 8 am from your hotel, this morning you set off for the 4 hour drive north to Nam Cat Tien National Park. The Park was established in 1998 and is actually comprised of two separate areas, Nam Cat Tien and Cat Loc, which are linked by the Dong Nai River. Together they cover around 185,000 acres of evergreen rainforest which is home to over 600 varieties of plants, 240 types of birds and 50 species of mammals, including the one-horn Javan rhinoceros.
You arrive here at around 12 am, upon crossing the Dong Nai River by ferry, you get into the park and the staff of Forest Floor Logde welcome you and take you the the Resort by the electric car. Check in the lodge, you then have a lunch at the restaurant of the Forest Floor Lodge facing to the River and Jungle.
At 2 pm your guide meet you at the reception for a walking tour into the jungle to discover the flora and fauna here.
Following the walking tour, you enjoy your free time at leisure or biking .
At 7 pm you take an electric car to the restaurant the centre park for a dinner. After the dinner you have a private jeep for watching animals around 1 hour and the jeep take you back to the Forest Floor Lodge.
Overnight in the Executive Tent B#2 in the Forest Floor Lodge.

Day 2: Nam Cat Tien - Ho Chi Minh City

Rising early to the sounds of the forest around you. You take breakfast at your leisure time.
7:30 your driver and tour guide will meet you at the lobby for a trip to Bau Sau or Crocodile Lake. The jeep takes you 20 minutes (10km) from the logde to the trekking point then you commence 1 hour trek for 5 km to get there.
Bau Sau is a beautiful lake surrounded by the jungle, a home of many crocodiles. You board on your boat and padle around one hour to explorer the lake. You have chance to see birds, crocodiles, wild lotus…. Back to Forest Floor Lodge for lunch. At two pm you commence your return journey to Ho Chi Minh City where you arrive at 6 pm.
