The Vietnam Golf and Country Club ( Cau lac bo Golf Quoc Te Vietnam: Tel 733 0124, Fax 733 0127; 40-42D Nguyen Trai, Ap Gian Dan District 2) was the forst in Vietnam to provide night golfing under floodlights. The club is in Lam Vien Park, aboout 15km east of central HCMC, membership stars at a cool US$ 41.000 but paying visitors are welcome. Use of the driving range costs US$20, or you can play a full round for US$92. Other facilities include tennis courts and a swimming pool

The Rach Chiec Driving Rang ( Tel 8960756, open 6am – 10pm daily) is a good place to practise your swing. A bucket of 50 balls costs 50.000d, c;ubs, shoes and instructors can be hired. It’s in An Phu village, a 20minite frive north along Nation Hwy 1 from central HCMC.

If you’re serious about golfing, there are top-notch courses in both Phan Thiet and Dalat.
